Make sure the data in databases are always correct(accurate)! Thus the information is also accurate.
->To help us make the data accurate we can:
e.g. Census -filled out in a paper form - to make things accurate- paper form can make things difficult.
->Sometimes they aren't undertsandable :(
~thus have the things entered online: therefore it increses the accuracy as it reduces the chance for errors.
-> If they start to put the wrongs things in the wrong area, the individual is told, and this is called
data validation. -If you have it set up, to give a certain age - it lets the range be valid - Thus the errors are more like typos. E.g. Born in 1991 and type in 1891 by accident - YOU CANT BE THAT OLD - it recognises that issue.
NOTE:Data Validation doesnt elminate errors but it reduces errors!
If a database is made of records that is consists of people. Data validation forms help improve the accuracy by sending the record to the person. It allows us to check whther the data is accurate or not. Checking with people in the database.
Security:
-Not allowing the data to be just used by just anybody.
-> To help : Log ins with different levels of restrictions for the database
Gotta have protection!
Nowadays a lot of databses wer use operate online (internet)
~You dont want people to intercept your data.... thus ENCRYPTION- (coded-other people will see it as jumbled rubbish and thus dont have way to decrypt info) - too much trouble to be broken.
~the closed lock symbol - SECURE
->It also depends on people being sensible - DONT GIVE AWAY DETAILS ~~ DONT EVER GIVE AWAY YOUR PASSWORD!
e.g. Search queries in google get sent back to google, then google sends some results back to you. 2 Way Querie
